This 240-ton, 82-foot wide dish antenna is a component of a radio telescope system designed to penetrate deeply into the universe through the interception of radio waves. It is part of the VLBA, or Very Long Baseline Array, which consists of ten similar sites from Hawaii to the Virgin Islands.
