Often, costumes for masquerading ("tramps") are designed to be queens, clowns, Zulus, Indians, bulls, devils, and pirates. At today's carnivals and parades you are more likey to see very elaborate and colorful costumes with sequins, feathers, and much more exposed flesh than in the olden-day tramps.
