The imposing building on King Street is an outstanding example of the splendor of Danish colonial architecture and the opulence of the sugar plantation era.  It's elegant ballroom was the site of festive gatherings hosted by the governors of the colony and is still used for government functions.  The building has undergone major historical renovation and preservation.  Government House is now where the government presides on St. Croix.  It is open to the public.
