From the east to the west is a long lee coast with a backdrop of gently rolling hills ending in more rugged mountains with a tropical moist forest. Mount Eagle, the highest peak on St. Croix, is a 1,165 feet above sea level. Cane Bay (top) offers some of the Caribbean's best scuba diving, and hiking the trails at Annaly Bay (bottom) lead to tide pools and remote beaches.
